How To Cook Corn Beef Hash In Slow Cooker
Looking for dinner inspiration can feel draining sometimes.
Sometimes you spot a tasty recipe then you realise it costs a fortune to make.
But no need to worry anymore as this perfect mid-week meal should be easy to cook.
And hopefully it uses all the ingredients that's already in your cupboard.
An added bonus is that you can throw it all a slow cooker and be done with it.
As for the corned beef hash, the traditional British dish can be made in many ways.
And, there's a perpetual argument over whether it should be fried and dry or wet.
But we think this home cook's recipe is perfect for a dreary, overcast day like today.
Sarah shared her delicious recipe on the Facebook group Crockpot/Slow Cooker Recipes & Tips.
She wrote: "First time making corned beef hash. Turned out lovely."
And looking at her mouthwatering snaps, we agree.
As do many foodie fans.
The post racked up nearly 500 likes and 420 comments.
Here's the recipe to try it for yourself.
Easy Slow Cooker Corned Beef Hash
Ingredients:
- Tin of corned beef, diced
- Five potatoes, diced
- One carrot, sliced
- One large brown onion, chopped
- Two beef stock cubes
- 200g baked beans
- 1.5 pints boiling water
Method:
- Layer the beef, onion, beans and potatoes on top of one another in the slow cooker.
- Add seasoning (we'd recommend salt, pepper, herbs de Provence or mixed herbs, extra thyme and garlic powder).
- Mix the stock cubes with hot water and pour to cover the layered meat and veg.
- Cook on high for four hours or on low for seven hours.
Top tips:
- If you want your sauce to be thicker add some gravy granules mixed with a bit of water.
- Another fun tip is to replace half of the beef stock with a tin of vegetable soup – it really adds depth to the flavour.
- Finally serve your corned beef hash with some greens and pickled cabbage.
- Or, serve it in a giant Yorkshire pud!
Delicious!
Sarah served hers with a fried egg on top – we love how many ways you can customise this dish to your family's taste.
