Cleaning your OLED or LCD TV screen
Before You Start
- Be sure to follow the steps carefully to avoid damage to your TV.
- Make sure to unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Avoid touching the OLED or LCD screen.
- Don't spray directly onto the TV screen.
- It could drip over the lower or exterior part of the screen, and may cause the TV to malfunction.
- Don't spray chemicals such as insecticides, benzene, thinners, etc.
- These chemicals may damage the TV screen or the electrical circuitry and can strip the finish on the TV.
- Don't leave the TV in contact with a rubber or vinyl materials for long periods of time.
- These materials may deteriorate the TV or peel off the paint.
- Before using a commercially available chemical or cleaning cloth, check with the manufacturer to verify that it's safe to use on your TV.
- Don't use a commercially available screen protective filter.
Clean Your TV
- Gently wipe the screen or the exterior with a dry, soft cloth, such as an eyeglass cleaner.
- For inks from oil markers on the screen, soak a cloth in a non-soap synthetic cleanser diluted (by less than 1% ) with water. Squeeze the cloth tightly to eliminate excess liquid, then wipe gently to remove the ink.
- Use non-soap cleansers cautiously because it may cause environmental problems when disposed improperly.
- Immediately afterwards, gently wipe the screen with a soft, dry cloth.
- Don't use detergent with abrasives such as a cleanser.
- The liquid crystal order may collapse if you apply pressure when wiping the TV screen and it may look like dirt. Turn the power off and then back on to recover from this condition.
- Wipe printed surfaces on the TV such as CH +, CH -, or HDMI 1 labels carefully with a soft dry cloth.
- The printed surface could be damaged if scratched by your nails.
- It's recommended to use a small duster to clean narrow spaces like between the TV and the stand (table top stand).
- Dust may stick near the vented areas on the back of the TV and could lead to overheating and failure. It's recommended to remove it with a vacuum cleaner once a month.
- To clean the remote control, soak a cloth in a neutral detergent diluted with water, firmly wring it out, wipe off the dirt on the remote control, and then lightly wipe the remote control with a dry cloth.
Note: If the battery fluid leaks, wipe off the fluid in the battery compartment of the remote control before inserting new batteries.
